We have a choke cherry tree in our yard that always produces massive amounts of berries each year. I usually try to pick what I can reach. This year I plan to get up higher and harvest as much as possible. My first excursion into syrup and jelly last year went SO well and we loved all the jars of tart tasty toppings. I was pretty proud of myself for canning for the first time!

My daughter would be so jealous. She desperately wants a cherry tree in our back yard. I'll have to show her your pictures and maybe break down and get a tree.
We had a cherry tree when I was in high school and I HATED it! We had to pick millions of cherries and then pit them for my mom to make jam. And I didn't even like the jam!
That is something I would like to try one day! I love the taste of homemade jam!
